Where the designing question becomes WWSWD: What Would Snow White Do? 

Once upon a time, in the faraway lands of Windermere, Florida, there lived an enchanting designer named Chelsea Watson. Next to the small sun-kissed town sits Orlando, home to the Magic Kingdom. Growing up close to Disney World helped fuel the flame of Chelsea’s passion for combining her love of fashion with The Most Magical Place on Earth. 

“Disney has always been a big part of my life. Since I lived so close to the parks, I started sharing my everyday magic. Whether it was the outfits I wore to the parks or how I incorporated Disney into my home subtly and tastefully, I found many people who enjoyed the same things I did. I grew very organically, which I feel can only happen when you’re just genuinely sharing things you love.”

But, you don’t have to travel to Disney to experience its beauty and wonder. The Styled By Magic creator brought the enchanting vibes home by adding a few charming touches to her bedroom. 

“I wanted a place that felt as magical and welcoming as the theme parks I have in my backyard, so I was very inspired by the color palette of Cinderella Castle and motifs that evoked a modern fairytale room.” 

For Chelsea, the bedroom is her haven. It’s a place of peace and relaxation to escape from Florida’s scorching heat. A place to calm her mind. The first step to creating a space fit for a princess is comfort—just ask Sleeping Beauty. 

“I feel it’s not a home unless you are comfortable, and everything I have from Joybird is based on comfort first, aesthetic second. What makes Joybird so great is that both of those things are included in their pieces. Joybird pieces are so beautiful, and I love the statement they make in my room. My living room is full of Joybird as well! Between their exceptional color and fabric selection for furniture and their overall comfort, it’s a no-brainer for anything I get from them.”

With the help of Joybird (and pixie dust), Chelsea created a whimsically designed home where each room channels the excitement you feel upon walking into the park. With a bedroom like that, you don't have to worry about getting home before the clock strikes twelve. And that's what we call magic! 

“I love reading in my Lotta bed and snuggling with my pup, Pascal. It’s so huge, and blue is a particularly calming color for me. It’s the room's focal point, and I love falling into it each night.”

"I know home design can often seem intimidating, but a home is what you make it. So long as you feel comfortable and happy in it, it's sure to be a beautiful space. Joybird was a great place for me to get inspired, and if you love transitional, mid-century modern, and organic pieces, then I think this would be a great place for someone to start as well."
